Psalm 20:6 Now I know the Lord saves His anointed.
Proverbs 20:21 an inheritance gained hastily at the beginning will not be blessed at the end.
Luke 15:22 “…bring out the best robe and put it on him. And put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.”
We are the Lord’s anointed. Have you ever thought about that?
We, like the prodigal son, asked for our inheritance early and squander it selfishly.
We see the end of the inheritance, the prodigal son was not blessed at all. No, he found himself starving while feeding the pigs. (Read the whole story at Luke 15:11-32)
But sometimes that’s what it takes for us to see what we had.
But like the prodigal son, we too must come to our sense. We need to return to our Father’s house. We need to come to the end of ourselves.
When we do, we are welcomed into Jesus’ loving arms. He says nothing about how we wasted what was given to us. He rejoices over us, elevating our self-worth.
Where are you right now?
Living a prodigal life or following Jesus?
Come home to the Father. He’s waiting with open arms and a robe of righteousness.
Thank you, Father, for not scolding us for our bad behavior. Thank you for your loving embrace instead. In Jesus’ name Amen.
