Psalm 21:7 For the king trusts in the Lord and through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved.
Proverbs 21:3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
Security is found in One place only. Let me give you a clue, it’s not found in money!
While having enough money is nice or necessary, becoming obsessed with gathering it leads to trouble.
Take a hint from Kind David. When he penned Psalm 21 he outlined where his strength came from. It was God who empowered him.
It is the same with us. As Paul says in Philippians it is God in us giving us the desire and the will to do what’s pleasing to Him.
And we see from Proverbs 16:3 that righteousness and justice are more important to God than any sacrifice.
Jesus taught us we can’t serve two masters in Luke 16. We need to keep our focus on pleasing God. Walking in His ways. Following His example. Trusting Him to guide our steps.
Only when we trust Him will we be secure.
Father God above, real security is found in You alone. Thank you for your sacrifice to make it possible to have a relationship with you. Thank you for giving us desires to want you. Keep working in us to draw us closer to you. In Jesus’ name Amen.
