Have you ever experienced a time when God’s Word was a particular comfort to you in the trial you faced at the time?
I have. Not too long ago there was a time when it felt like everything was against me. I was dealing with multiple health issues, husband’s unexpected unemployment, unplanned car maintenance expenses for three different vehicles, instability at my workplace, dealing with difficult people, random acts of vandalism which broke my son’s back window of his car in front our house, and a lot of mental agony along the way.
It was almost too much to handle. I didn’t know whether to laugh at Satan’s attempts or cry because of all the pressure. Then God gave me the following verse….
The righteous face many troubles but the Lord rescues them from each and every one. Psalm 34:19 NLT
As only God can, He calmed my spirit with this verse. It was just what I needed to persevere. I found new strength to continue. It gave me hope to go on. It brought peace because even in the middle of all the unpleasant stuff God was still in control. He knew what I was experiencing. He would led me through it.
I am glad to report most of those troubles are behind me now. God showed Himself faithful so far. Every trouble I’ve been through, come out of, persevered, endured has been used by God to bring good out of it. These trials caused me to cling to Him tighter. My prayers began to change too, as I thought of others who might be going through similar difficulties. Yes. God’s WORD is true. It is proven pure and right.
I have confidence He will rescue from the remaining troubles too. All I need to do is remember how He rescued me from the past. He is faithful.
So how about you? What scripture has God comforted you with recently?
In His Grace,
