Psalm 14:1 “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good.”
Psalm 14:3 “They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt. There is none who does good, no, not one.”
Proverbs 14:8 “The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.”
Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to man, but its end is the way of death.”
Luke 9: 23-26 “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.”
We are all flawed. Stained by sin from birth. Psalm 14:1 – 3 tell us no one does good. And Proverbs 14:8, 12 tell us deceit keeps us from understanding.
Jesus came to save mankind from deceit, corruption, and foolishness.
Our way may seem right but it leads to death. Jesus way may seem wrong or backward but it leads to life.
God who loved and created us doesn’t want us to stay in deceit. He wants to lead us out into a better way.
He’s given us His Word to reveal who He is. He’s given us His Holy Spirit to help us understand. He gave us Jesus to save us.
So how do we save our life?
- We give our lives to Jesus.
- Trust in His finished work on the cross.
- Believe His Word which tells us we are born again when we believe Him.
- Allow the Holy Spirit’s control to direct our life.
It is a wise person who recognizes his/her need.
Are you there yet?
Jesus is the remedy to all that ails us.
Father God above, thank you for making us. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for giving Jesus to us. Thank you for righting our wrongs. Thank you for adopting us into your family. Thank you for saving us through Jesus Christ. In His name we pray. Amen.
