Psalm 18:28 For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
Proverbs 18:10 the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
Luke 13:24-30 Strive to enter through the narrow gate for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
Simply knowing about Jesus will not save you in the end. Luke 13:24-30 explains there will be some people who ate and drank in Jesus’ presence while He taught but were not able to enter the kingdom of God.
Jesus didn’t come for the observers. He came for the participants.
One must participate by asking Jesus into your life. Seeking Him as Savior and Kind and Lord of all. And if He is those things, then we are His servants too.
That means we listen and obey His words. Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, body, and strength. Love your neighbor as yourself.
We learn to walk by the Spirit’s leading, so we are no longer controlled by our fleshly desires.
Instead, we delight ourselves in the Lord and He gives us the desires of our heart.
Recognize we can’t be right with God based on our own actions. Jesus makes us righteous through His death and resurrection.
We really are safe when we run to Jesus. The word tells us our names are written in the Book of Life. Anyone who calls on the name of Jesus will be saved and not cast out. Our names are engraved on the palms of Jesus and no one can snatch us out of His hands.
Thank you, God, for making your way known to us. Thank you for Jesus’ sacrifice to make us righteous in your sight. Enable us to participate with you and enter the narrow gate. In Jesus’ name Amen.
